Regarding U.S. Import Duties on Goods Shipped from Japan

This is an important notice for our members residing in the United States.

As you may know, on July 30 President Donald Trump announced an executive order abolishing the de minimis rule, which exempted low-value imports from duties.
The de minimis rule allowed shipments valued at $800 or less to be imported under simplified customs procedures without paying duties. However, this rule will no longer apply to shipments that clear U.S. customs on or after 12:01 a.m. (EST), August 29.
From that date forward, all imports will be subject to duties depending on the country of origin of the goods.

Our company will, whenever possible, declare Japan as the country of origin at the time of shipment. This is because the tariff rate for Japanese products is set at 15%, the lowest among the reciprocal tariff rates of major countries.
Please note, however, that U.S. Customs may independently determine the country of origin.

Accordingly, from August 29 onward:

- For Japanese-origin goods with an MFN (Most Favored Nation) duty rate of less than 15%, a combined rate will apply so that the total duty becomes 15%.

- For goods with an MFN rate of 15% or higher, no additional reciprocal tariff will apply, and only the MFN duty will be charged.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. We appreciate your understanding of this new tariff system and your cooperation when receiving your shipments.
